About Us
All restaurants live and die by their food. It just seems truer when the restaurant doesn't sell alcohol. Razing the bar -- raises the bar. Without proceeds from alcohol, the pressure is on the Chef to make the finest food.
Consquently, when you go to a BYOB (Bring You Own Bottle) restaurant, you are rewarded threefold: first with great quality food, then with the best wine you can afford to bring, and finally with the company of kindred spirits, who like you, have brought a bottle to one of their favorite BYOBs.
My goal for this website is to help guide you to the right BYOB for your tastes and location. This summer I hope to start a real newsletter, so please subscribe and tell me what information you'd like to see (I don't sell email addresses).
This site is dedicated to my parents, who in addition to giving 4 children an ideal home, somehow always managed to take us out to restaurants. My parents taught me that eating and dining are not the same thing, that sharing your plate is always acceptable, and that dining with family and friends is at all times special and sometimes magical.
Bon Appetit!
