Let's establish one important, inarguable fact from the very start. Zorba's dosen't have to try to be authenticaly Greek. It is authentically Greek, from its owner Kostas Kravaratis on down to the wait staff, almost all of whom hark from the homeland and speak Greek without a hint of an American accent.
And now that that is clear, let's establish another important, inarguable fact. The overall dining experience at Zorba's has a mutch to due with the wonderful dishes Kostas serves up as it has to do with with Kostas himself-a "Taverniaris" both by trade and at heart.
....But what's you hurry. Stay a while, and let his cooking sooth you instead. Kostas who owned a taverna in Thessaloniki, can tell exactly what dish will please you just by looking at you.
...Remember this too: for Kostas Kravvaritis, Greek dishes, whether served in the U.S., the Middle East, Africa or Asia, should be Greek-not a watered down version to please the locals.
So if you have sometime, and you are looking for an evening of really good food, good drink and good starytelling, stop by Zorba's. The food is somewaht pricey, but you will get your money's worth.
